I was recently in San Diego and we knew that the US Open was being held in Torrey Pines, which was just about 15 mins from where we were staying. My Cousin, and Aunt thought that we would just get out and walk around, although tickets had been sold out for ever....Sure enough we were approached by a "gentleman" who had 3 extras and was looking to sell...

Well we bought and got inside and were able to walk around and actually saw the 18th hole...

Now, do I know golf, NO...Did I see anyone famous, I DON'T KNOW...
But I would have known Tiger and had I sat in the same place for an hour I could have, but didn't.....

It is fun, and a beautiful place to see, and to be apart of that atmosphere was amazing.......

I think that I will become a new golf fan, but good to know, I don't have to start this season, since Tiger is out,,,,,,and yes I just read that!!!

Did I ever think that parents were cool who decorated there cars and wear the matching t-shirts????? OMG!!! I am my mother and let me tell you it is GREAT!!!! I hope that the Girls All Stars have a great tournament weekend and I don't know when it happened that all of the sudden think it is cool to drive a suburban with the windows all painted up....but let me tell you.......THIS IS THE NEW COOL!! and I wouldn't trade it for the world!! I must say how this picture came about.....My dear friend Kenda has started a new job and we text ------ALOT!!-----Well, if anything interesting is happening we will send a pic...
I have not tanned one time in about 10 years, and with all of the wind, I deceided I would take advantage of going one time--without paying! Your first time is free deal...so I have gone 2 times now, different places---without paying!!
So, let me say,,,,I stayed in that tanning bed a long time...taking self portraits and texting......it is hard to see through those goggles......

Things I love about Spring

I was supposed to blog about things that I love about Spring about a month ago. I really like spring, just never got to blogging about it. I will have to check and see if there is some other topic I have missed.....

1. The beautiful weather, even if we are not getting any rain.
2. The flowers and trees blooming.
3. Playing Spring tennis, although we are halfway though our season and I am not doing so well.
4. Cooking outside and having friends over.
5. Shopping all the sales, when spring actually arrives almost all the spring clothes are on sale, so that they can get ready for the summer stuff.
6. Knowing that school is almost out and that we have a great summer ahead of us.
7. It is one season closer to fall, -----that is my FAVORITE season!!!
8. Time change, I like having the longer days.
9. Blowing wind and orange skies!!! haha....just kidding, but we ought to love it since we have so much of it....
10. I guess I don't have ten!!

Buffalo Hunting

This weekend Chip, Emi and I are in Oklahoma and we took emi to the Wichita Mountain Reserve and went looking for Buffalo. It was such a good time. We drove for 15 miles and had turned around and as I looked to the right, saw a buffalo about 4 feet from the road. Yeah, it was so fun to see and Emi loved it!!

Thanks for all of the negative posts about me not posting in so long!! Well, I am going to start back.. I have got some of the more recent pics of things that have been happening, but have a ton of the wedding that we are just returning from. It was just about the most beautiful and fun wedding I have ever been apart of!! It will take me a bit to go through all the phots and get some posted!! Did anyone watch the first season of the Bad Girls Club....this is Deann.. She is super cute and super fun, but just meeting someone that you have already been watching on TV is weird!!!. Her season is the one with the Crazy Zara and that mean girl with the black hair Amy...Come to find out, Amy is not all that mean. All the times where I used to think I might like to go on a reality tv show, I am certain that I would NOT!!!!

These guys showed up to show a little support Julia's way!! She is becoming quite a good basketball player and even made the All Star Team!!! GO JULES!!!!!

This was really tough for our family!! When Julia got picked for her team we were thrilled with the coach and the kids...what is really tough is that they were the Longhorns!!! YIKES!! Well, we show support for these longhorns, but thank goodness, this team is over!!

It is All Star Cheer Season again and Julia loves all the performing!! They do a great job and it is soo much fun to watch. I wanted to upload the video of her dancing, and havent got it yet!! All these years I thought that is what I looked like when I dance, but thanks to some (good) friends they have assured me, my child has rhythm and she does not get it from ME!!

A BAT ATTACK

Okay, about 2 hours ago, I was sitting and working on the computer.. Julia and Emi are on the bed behind me, (Julia is home sick) When Julia begins screaming, there is a bat in the bedroom!! I look up and there is a HUGE rabid vampire bat, swooping and fixing to attack us!!!

Maybe that is slightly dramatic, but it was about 12 inches, big and swooping, and the kids and I screamed and ran..After the police and animal rescure trapped it about 15 mins ago, I am finally able to laugh about it!! A little........

I know that I havent posted in such a long time, things have been so good and busy. With Chip being home, for some reason I can find lots of other things to do besides BLOG!!!
But that has not stopped me from reading other blogs. There is no real way to express the feeling that comes over you when the bus pulls away and you see a hundred or so soldiers returning from war..The emotion that is in the crowd, and me personally was all over the place. You can't yell loud enough, you can't clap loud enough, you can't just run onto the field, these men and women are going to follow their colors all the way across the field. They are escorted by the horses because this is the Cav. Please keep in mind, this is approximately 150 of 5000 returning and for those that are home,................ there are others going..

You cant tell really, but Chip is 2nd soldier in, 2nd row!!! Welcome home Heroes!!!!

Sunday morning the girls and I sat and waited and waited at Fort Hood for the last leg of Chips 15 month deployment to end. As you can guess, the last 30 minutes were just about the hardest of the deployment. We got there early and waited with about 300 other people that were waiting for there soldiers to land. From his FOB, to Balad, to Kuwait, to Budapest, to Ireland , to Main, to finally Texas!!! The trip home was long and very over due. He is one of nearly 5000 troops that have completed this tour out of Fort Hood and have just returned home or that will be coming home in the days and weeks ahead!!. ....Yeah, he is home..Have more welcome home pics!!

We had a great time trick-or-treating Halloween night.. I don't remember Slaton ever having such a huge crowd of children like we have had the last 2 years.. There are kids all over and if the weather had been just a little warmer, kids could have stayed out later..Also, great participation as far as all the candy givers!! You didn't come across many houses with there porch lights out!! Emi is a pink lady bug and Julia is a Rock Star!!

Combo Sectionals---Dallas Texas

This past weekend my Combo team, (which is a doubles team), got to play in Dallas for the Sectional tournament...We were competing for the 5.5 Lubbock Women. We did really well and it was a super fun trip...If you are wondering why Kenda is in the pics, no she is not on my team, her Combo team from Amarillo was there and playing the same tournament...We got put in a different bracket and the only way we would have met up was in the finals!! Well, neither of us made it..but it sure was fun to play...I would have loved to put her team against ours in just a friendly little competition!!!!! HaHaHa...it is probally best that it didn't work out that way, we are all pretty competitive these days!!!

I think that it is funny how we have been dreading the first day of school, until the last few days of summer, and then we were ready to go and start a new year!!! That is how it was this morning..Kids were everywhere and even Emi was dressed in her favorite ladybug T-shirt, ready to get Jules off and on her way..We arrived alomst 30 min. before the bell rang and 50% of the students were there in the classrooms, taking a seat in there new desks, ready to check in school supplies!!! I hope the excitement lasts!!
